About AutoQB
Clear answers about one of the most confusing bills you pay.
AutoQB publishes plain-English guides to understanding car insurance quotes and coverage, so you can read a policy with confidence and ask the right questions.
Our mission
Make car insurance understandable
Most drivers buy or renew a car insurance policy every six or twelve months, yet the documents involved are written in a language of their own. Limits appear as strings of numbers, coverages have similar names that pay for very different things, and the price arrives with little explanation.
AutoQB exists to close that gap. We explain how quotes are put together, what each coverage does and doesn't do, and how to compare options fairly, in language that respects your time and intelligence.
We are an educational publisher. We are not an insurer, broker, agent, lender or government agency. We don't sell policies, provide quotes or recommend particular companies, which lets every guide focus on one thing: helping you understand.

Editorial standards
The rules every guide follows
Insurance decisions can be expensive to get wrong. These standards shape what we publish and how.
Plain English, precisely
We define every insurance term where it first appears and prefer a worked example to a paragraph of jargon. Simple never means vague.
Primary sources
We work from policy language and the published materials of state insurance regulators and federal consumer agencies, not from advertising or sales material.
Independent and honest
We don't promise outcomes, savings or prices. When something depends on your state or your policy, we say so, and illustrative numbers are always labeled.
Review and upkeep
How our content is reviewed and kept current
- Research. Each guide starts from how coverage is actually defined in standard policy language and in state regulatory materials.
- Write for the reader. We draft in plain English, add examples, and flag the places where rules commonly differ by state or insurer.
- Check before publishing. Every guide is reviewed for accuracy, clarity and tone, and checked for anything that could read as a promise or a recommendation.
- Date it and revisit it. Each guide shows the month it was last reviewed. We revisit guides periodically and when we learn of a material change, and we correct confirmed errors promptly.
